MICHELLE SUAREZ

Trustee Suarez is the Principal at Calvert Elementary School in Lincoln. She holds a bachelor of science degree and a master's degree in educational administration from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Trustee Suarez was appointed to complete the term vacated by Willa Kosman.

FLOYD VRTISKA

Trustee Vrtiska is a farmer and a former state senator for 12 years.  Trustee Vrtiska was appointed to the Board in January of 2007.

LARRY TEAHON

Trustee Teahon is environmental coordinator for Crow Butte Resources, Inc.  He received a B.A. in Chemistry/Biology from Chadron State College.  Trustee Teahon was appointed to the Board in January of 2001.

WILLIAM E. ROSKENS

Trustee Roskens is president of First Care Management Group, LLC.  The company manages retirement communities, nursing homes and assisted living facilities.  He received his B.S. from the University of Kansas and a law degree from Creighton University in 1989. He was appointed to the Board in 2003.

CARTER "CAP" PETERSON

Trustee Peterson was appointed to the Board in 2005.  He is owner of Northeast NE Insurance Agency Inc. and Antiques on Main in Wayne.  Trustee Peterson is a graduate of Wayne State College and a former adjunct instructor.  

GARY BIEGANSKI

Trustee Bieganski is president emeritus of the Community Hospital in McCook.  He has served on numerous boards throughout the state.  Trustee Bieganski was appointed to the Board in 2006 and is a graduate of Chadron State College.

Roger Breed

Trustee Breed is the State Commissioner of Education. As Commissioner of Education, Dr. Breed is an ex-officio member of the Board of Trustees.

STAN CARPENTER, CHANCELLOR

Mr. Carpenter received his Bachelor of Science  and Master of Education degrees from the University of Cincinnati and a Juris Doctorate from Northern Kentucky University.  Previously he served as General Counsel and Director of Employee Relations for the Vermont State Colleges in Waterbury.
