State College Release RFP for Vision Insurance Program

The Nebraska State College System (NSCS) will accept proposals for a Vision Insurance Program in accordance with the terms of a Request for Proposal (RFP).  A copy of the RFP may be obtained by contacting the Nebraska State College System Office, 1445 K Street, PO Box 94605, Lincoln, NE  68509; (402) 471-2505 or by e-mail cmurphy@nscs.edu.  The RFP will also be available on the NSCS website at www.nscs.edu.  Proposals must be received by 2:00 pm CST, April 11, 2008 to be considered.

QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS

Q.  What service frequency are you requesting for exam/lenses/frames?
      A.  Exam 12 months; Lenses 12 months; Frames 24 months

Q.  Can you provide the RFP and the census data in a different format?
      A.  Please see above, there is now a link for the RFP in Word format (.doc) and the
           Census data in EXCEL format (.xls)

Q. You are requesting a three-year rate guarantee on a plan that has a two-year benefit for frames.  This could create confusion among employees in year four if a rate increase is warranted.  Can you confirm a three year guarantee is your wish?
      A.  Yes, we are looking for a three-year guarantee as requested in the RFP.

Q.  Is there a census file that includes either age or date of birth of eligible employees?
      A.  A link to the following excel file includes sex, date of birth and age.  Due to privacy issues we will not be providing a file that matches age and gender to the zip code file.
