Director of Financial Operations
The Nebraska State College System (NSCS) invites applications for the position of Director of Financial Operations. The position reports directly to the Vice-Chancellor for Finance and Administration and is an integral part of the System Office staff, located in Lincoln.
The Director of Financial Operations is responsible for activities related to budgeting, travel, accounts payable and receivable document pre-audit and processing, various reconciliations, and related data research and analysis for the System Office. The position serves as security coordinator for the System Office for the NSCS financial system and serves on various committees related to the operation of those systems. The Director also maintains the system-wide travel policy and acts as a resource to the State Colleges for travel and budget-related questions. This position works closely with the Director of Systemwide Accounting in preparation of System Office financial statements, and with the Director of Systemwide Payroll and Benefits on various projects.
The Director of Financial Operations should possess a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field and have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in operational accounting in areas such as accounts payable and/or budgeting. The ideal candidate will be proficient in the use of Microsoft Word and Excel and have good communication and organizational skills. Working knowledge of SAP and/or Nebraska Enterprise One software is helpful, but not required.
