Director of Title IX Compliance

The Nebraska State College System (NSCS) seeks a Director of Title IX Compliance to provide leadership, training, and coordination in relation to all matters pertaining to Title IX in collaboration with Chadron, Peru, and Wayne State Colleges.

The Director will have primary responsibility for developing and managing a comprehensive system-wide Title IX compliance program.  Working closely with College Title IX officers, administration, faculty, staff, and students, the Director will be responsible for developing initiatives, conducting training, and coordinating awareness of gender equity and sexual harassment, assault, violence, and creating sexual misconduct policies and related guidelines and procedures (e.g. VAWA, Clery, Campus SaVE Act). This position is also responsible for monitoring emerging state and federal regulatory obligations and the development and implementation of plans of action for remaining in compliance with Title IX.

This position requires a Bachelor’s degree.  J.D. and/or Master’s degree and previous experience in Title IX compliance, higher education, or a related field is strongly preferred.

This position requires excellent interpersonal communication, presentation, project management, and time management skills.   Excellent judgment and a professional demeanor with the ability to work with internal and external parties with diplomacy and understanding is essential.  Individual must possess the ability to recommend and/or effect changes to policies, to revise practices and to implement equitable procedures across the Colleges and System Office.

Work requires knowledge of current state and federal law and regulations, with an emphasis on Federal and state discrimination law; System and College specific policies, practices and procedures; and best practices and trends in higher education related to harassment and other discriminatory practices that violate Title IX.  

The position reports to the Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs and Risk Management and will require extensive in-state travel.  Additional travel to conferences and training will also be necessary.  The primary office location is Lincoln, Nebraska.  Estimated salary is $60,000 to $72,000, based on qualifications.  The NSCS also offers an excellent comprehensive benefit package.
