Governor's Opportunity Award

Provides half of the tuition costs for Nebraska high school graduates who score between 21 and 24 on the ACT or between 1500 and 1650 on the SAT and plan to attend college the following fall.

In partnership with the Governor, the Nebraska State College System is currently offering half-tuition Governor Opportunity Awards to attend Chadron, Peru or Wayne State College. The renewable scholarships will be awarded for the 2017-2018 academic year and represent a more than $9,600 financial award when renewed over four years.

Students wishing to enroll at Chadron State and Wayne State Colleges must complete an application for admission and a general scholarship application to be considered for the Governor's Opportunity Award.  Students applying at Peru State College must complete an application for admission which also serves as Peru State's general scholarship application.

Please note - there is no separate application for this scholarship as has been the case in the past.
