Chancellor Carpenter sends message of support to Nebraska State College System DACA students.

To the Students of the Nebraska State College System:

The federal government’s recent decision to terminate the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) has generated a lot of confusion and uncertainty for many. Several questions remain as to how this change will be implemented. However, our longstanding commitment to providing a safe, caring, and enriching learning experience accessible to all students continues. As Chancellor of the Nebraska State College System, I want reassure our DACA students at Chadron, Peru, and Wayne that you continue to be welcome as a valuable part of our college community.

We stand in support of you and your educational journey, along with more than 600 colleges and universities across the United States. Every one of you has worked diligently towards completing your education, and we admire the values, talent, and strength you bring to Nebraska. Our colleges are committed to providing whatever support we can to our students affected by this change.

I encourage Congress to find a solution that will protect our students and allow them to continue to pursue their education.

Stan Carpenter

Chancellor, Nebraska State College System
