Strategic Plan 2030

2030 Strategic Plan, Our Students, Our Strength

The Nebraska State College System (NSCS) Board of Trustees approved a new strategic plan to guide the System’s work over the next five years. The plan’s goals reflect the NSCS’s commitment to its longstanding mission while leveraging the opportunities and addressing the workforce challenges that are facing Nebraska and how the State Colleges can be part of the solution.

Four Strategic Priorities for 2030

The 2030 Strategic Plan is anchored by four outcomes that reflect the System's dedication to delivering quality education at an exceptional value to students and the State:

  1. Affordable Excellence for Every Student: Maintaining accessible, high-quality education by reducing financial barriers and ensuring affordability without compromising quality.
  2. Retention-Driven Excellence and Engaged Degree Attainment: Prioritizing student retention and degree completion through robust support services, personalized academic pathways, and enhanced engagement initiatives.
  3. Open Access and Supportive Pathways: Ensuring access remains a core focus, with efforts to create welcoming environments and clear pathways for all students to achieve academic and professional success.
  4. Workforce Development and Leadership: Aligning programs with Nebraska’s evolving workforce needs, preparing graduates to fill critical roles and contribute meaningfully to their communities.
