Chadron, Peru and Wayne State Colleges launch ambitious new initiative to help former students return to higher education and complete their degrees.

The Nebraska State College System (NSCS) announced today that Nebraska SMART, its free virtual tutoring program, is expanding statewide, giving every K–12 student in Nebraska access to one-on-one academic support from trained college tutors.

The Board of Trustees of the Nebraska State Colleges voted Monday to appoint Dr. Jodi Kupper as the next President of Chadron State College, removing the “interim” designation from her title and affirming their full confidence in her leadership and vision for the College’s future.

The Board of Trustees of the Nebraska State Colleges announced today that they will consider removing the “interim” designation from Dr. Jodi Kupper’s title and formally appoint her as president of Chadron State College at a special meeting on October 13, 2025, at 2:00 PM CT.

Following a national search, the Board of Trustees for the Nebraska State Colleges and Chancellor Paul Turman have announced the appointment of Dr. Robert C. Mock, Jr., Ed.D., as the 35th President of Peru State College.

The Board of Trustees of the Nebraska State Colleges has announced four finalists for the next president of Peru State College, the state’s first institution of higher education. The finalists are Dr. Amy Clark, Dr. “Nina” Evangeline Grant, Dr. Robert C. Mock, Jr., and Dr. Wendy Waugh.  

Chancellor of the Nebraska State College System, Dr. Paul Turman, has appointed Dr. Jodi Kupper as Interim President of Chadron State College, effective June 10, 2025.

The Nebraska State Colleges Board of Trustees selected Dr. Sean Ahern as the 2025 Teaching Excellence Award recipient for the Nebraska State College System.
